A minor earthquake was recorded near Valencia at 2:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.   The 2.5 magnitude earthquake took place 10 kilometers, or 6.2 miles, south southwest of Valencia, near Mentryville Park. The earthquake was reported to be 10.8 kilometers deep, according to the USGS.  No structures were reported to be threatened.
